Bob Keller became the first state champion in Beavercreek Track & Field history when he won the mile at the 1943 Ohio state meet with a time of 4:37.7. He was also a league and district champion.

Keller’s victory helped lead Beavercreek to a state runner-up finish with 20 points—the highest finish by a boys’ team in program history. His championship performance established a milestone that remains an important part of Beavercreek’s track and field legacy.
